Install XLT Cell Phone Charging Tray in XL?

Is the charging base available on the XLT also available for the XL trim. If not, can the XLT base be installed in the XL. I was thinking about DIY option.

Are you talking about the compartment where you can place your phone for wireless charging? If so, the wireless charging option is only available on the Lariat trim.

I'm pretty sure the cubby spaces are the same between the trim levels, the difference being that some (maybe only Lariat?) have wireless charging available. You can install your own wireless charging unit underneath that cubby space, I believe they're well under $100 but you'd have to pull the plastic apart to install it. Most just mount to the underside of a tray with double sided tape.

Pretty much everything in the Maverick (or any vehicle nowadays) is lego-snap together with half of the features prewired and ready to go, since it's easier than having different wiring for every trim combo.
While I'm sure you can buy the Lariat charging module and jam it in, it's more expensive than it's worth. If you're handy enough to take apart your center console then you're handy enough to use this instead, and just fasten it to the underside of your console in the appropriate spot. 8 bucks. I bought several and use them for all kinds of projects. If you have a 3D printer you can make nightstand Qi chargers, etc.

I'm afraid my Maverick was totaled 7 days after receiving it, and so I couldn't tell ya... I would probably tap into the USB-c that was directly above that area, if I remember correctly. Not sure if that would make CarPlay act squirrely, however.
