Infotainment freezing and dropping carplay

I’ve been having an on going issue with my infotainment freezing and then dropping CarPlay and reverting to the audio off screen. It’s at my Ford dealer for a 3rd time, they can’t seem to replicate the issue, and seem to think my iPhone 12 mini is the culprit. My phone works seamlessly in both the Mach e and f150 powerboost my in-laws have. Can anyone shed any light on my issue and how to correct it? Thx!

There may be an issue with the USB cable. When I first bought the Mav, Apple CarPlay ran horrible. Based on suggestions from this forum I put a new shorter cable in that was an Apple product and most of the issues cleared up. Waze speed readouts still suck.
Might be worth a shot…

Find a right-angle cable to plug into your phone.

That will limit flex at the socket and improve the connection.

I’ve swapped cables, and if it was an intermittent cable issue, the CarPlay would drop not freeze. I’m a guitar tech, so checking copper and connections is the first thing to do, so thanks, but I’m looking for insight from anyone who had this issue and corrected it. Thx

Attn older iphone users…. I’m using the smaller usb C port now instead of the larger cable input, and I’m issue free. To be clear, not a cable or usb port issue. Something to do with the seamless connectivity and speed of the C port vs the USB port. Glad this over with!
