After trying for months to connect with the proper dept to stop the monthly Ford PassConnect mailers
that were bordering on harrasement I finally got the correct phone number for the Customer Relationship
Center at 1-800-392-3673.
Many people do not know when you install this app in your Ford Maverick it will be using your personal
info in ways most people would not be ok with. Will use all of your phone call info, music info, maps and
location info etc and monetize it to whoever they can sell it to.
Ford forces you to make a concious decision to not have this happen as this information is hidden in the
fine print for Data Collection when you buy your vehicle. So I thought I would share this info and hopefully
people will pass this on to their friends as it turns out just about 100% of vehicle manufactures are doing the
exact same thing.

Buyer Beware.

It's usually in the fine print that they use your info for "third party partners" or similar wording. You're basically telling Ford whoever pays them can send spammy offers to you.

I'm amazed how many people still willingly give out their info to big companies without even looking at the details. They all do the same stuff. I always go through the settings of Apps/etc and find all the check boxes about sending info to whatever company and uncheck all that.

Just be glad that Ford allows us to turn that crap off. Some manufactures don’t.

FYI, the app does increase creepy corporate surveillance, but even if you never installed the Ford Pass app, or paired your phone, there is still vehicle telematics. Your speed, location, braking, time of day, and much more are all uploaded.

You can pull fuse #11 (in the front passenger side foot well) which physically cuts off the modem and all telematics. That will also cut some benefits such as post accident 911 auto dial, stolen vehicle location, and anything you might like in the app for example remote start.

It amazes me how many people blithely ignore the vast invasion of privacy that the data harvesting apps impose. I believe all of the car manufacturers are doing the same thing, as are manufacturers of nearly everything else! Not to mention everything you say to Alexa, ask Google., etc.

In the case of the automakers, there have been attempts to reign them in via legislation, but the laws are not nearly strong enough to stop it.

As long as the majority of people don't show any concern, and are willing to trade their privacy for some minor convenience, the situation will likely not improve. At least we still have fuse 11!

Odd, I’ve never had a ā€˜mailer’, I’ve got the Ford Pass app on my phone.
It’s never bothered me or caused any solicitation as far as I can tell.

Isn't it something, a product that is purchased, with your money, for pure personal use and convenience , is slowly becoming your personal jail guard. Reports every what, where, who, when and even your health (in very undetectable and stealthy ways to you) to sources unknown. So many profit from the acceptance of this personal tracking device - except for the one paying for it - YOU .... Crazy days

Cheers

I don’t think it has anything to do with the old ford pass, it’s the new ford pass ā€œconnectā€ that started with MY25/sync 4. My wife’s new expedition has that connected services stuff, after the year trial period ya have to pay for it, I won’t be renewing/paying

Not that it was a problem for you, they were just harvesting your personal info the whole time, and reselling it.
