Ignition switch is loose

My ignition switch is loose all around ,kinda like its mounted in a rubber mount of some sort.shouldn’t it be mounted firm,as in metal like every ignition switch ive ever seen?

How loose is loose? Ford ignition switches usually have a little bit of wiggle since both the tumbler housing and steering column receptacle are typically just cast without any machining to make them a precise fit.

Well lets just say until i bought this i,ve never had a car that the ignition switch moved as much as this.maybe this is normal but i dont thing so.my flex and escape dont move at all.

I'd get that fixed. 40 yrs of driving Fords never had a loose ignition ever.

I have an 2022 Ford Maverick XL and the ignition switch wiggles too. I think its normal. Looks like its made out of pot metal.
