Everything with my Maverick had been resolved. Happy as a clam. This week, went to start and ignition key wouldn't turn. Tried possible fixes based on prior experience. Nothing. Called Ford. Asked if there was something I was missing; response, "We'll send a tow truck to go to dealer." While waiting, I looked online. Found four reasons why key wouldn't turn. One reason was key itself. I found the backup key, tried it and the Maverick started without a problem. Examined the regular key I used. There was a tiny speck of dirt in the groove cut into the key. I poked it out with a knife tip, put the key in the ignition and.....VEHICLE STARTED! Amazing that something so trivial could be so significant. NOTHING in the manual covered being sure that the key had no obstructions. If anyone else had a problem like this, now you know what caused the problem and what to do.
