I wish I just got the bed rug since I have a soft tonneau cover. I’m mostly hauling furniture and other personal items, but the bedliner has been quite a nuisance. When you pull items off the bed, it can potentially leave black stains or scratch the items.

I’m using a rug now to prevent this but I feel like I wasted $500

I thought about this very thing and it is a good idea to throw down a blanket when hauling certain items. On the plus side the SIBL will still keep the bed from getting rusted over time.

Yeah hopefully it will increase the resale value in the future if I ever decide to sell the truck.

I love mine. I bought moving blankets for this specific reason.

Meanwhile the crappy plastic cap on the top of the tailgate (when closed) is about as durable as a pencil eraser.

I purchased the SIBL and the rubber bed mat. The best of all worlds.

I cut up a carpet the dog chewed. It was old anyway. Now, new carpet in house and DIY bed rug (carpet). Much improvement over climbing around on the SIBL.

I have the factory spray in liner and will be getting a rubber mat. Something cheap and generic that I will cut to fit.

That's the best of both worlds. The spray in and rubber mat allow you to push heavy items in the truck without balling up the rubber mat and pull things out without the mat coming out.

I'm looking to get the horse stall mat and cut to fit over the spray in liner. Tractor Supply has a great deal. I wish they had the 1/2" in 4'x6' though. They only have the 3/4' in that size. Then, no matter what I haul it will cushion, including my knees ;)

The rubber mat addition everyone suggests will probably solve your problem.

Side note: I didn’t get the bedliner due to cost reasons. I used my ford points to get the tray liner for free and think it is a decent option (for those who don’t have a spray-in, anyways)

They just opened on of those where I live yesterday. Was going to swing through and check it out, but it was packed like a fair ground. Was crazy.
