There is a little button you can push to turn it off or on. It comes in pretty handy in a drive thru carwash and when you don't want to stop and start but just kind of slowly ride through. Otherwise I leave it on.

I know how it works. I just simply don't like it. Personal preference.

Yes of the ICE but controlled by the computers. Hybrid thing.

Depending on your driving style, you can control it all with your foot. If you ease of the brake as you come to a stop, you can avoid having the auto hold come on (and the auto stop) so you can creep ahead, push just a little harder if you want the hold and push a little bit harder for the auto stop.

In the hybrid setup, the ICE interacts with the battery constantly while driving, stopping, coasting, etc. Turns on and off all the time. From a very basic viewpoint, the ICE in the hybrid does have auto start/stop but very different than in ecoboost. And you can’t disable like you can in EB because that would defeat the purpose of the hybrid setup.

autohold is only good for slight inclines in stop and go traffic. Then it is so nice to have. But only then. Any other time i like the automatic pull forward lifting off the brake.

Don't need Auto-Hold for hills as there is already a hill assist that engages automatically. Maybe it takes too much hill though to activate.

HOW DOES HILL START ASSIST WORK

When the system activates, your vehicle remains stationary for a few seconds after you release the brake pedal. This gives you time to move your foot from the brake pedal to the accelerator pedal. The brakes release when you apply the accelerator pedal and the vehicle begins to move forward, or the system exceeds the time allowed for automatically applying the brakes.
The system activates when your vehicle is in any forward gear and facing uphill, or when your vehicle is in reverse (R) and facing downhill.

I'd say the engine auto-stopped the whole time you started coasting/braking to the stop.

The non-hybrid auto-start/stop takes coming to a complete stop.
It is confusing when non-hybrid friends know about the auto-start/stop they hear cars doing or deal with themselves.
Beginning to wonder if that's the reason for 1-2 car lengths space at stop lights.
