Dealer is clueless. I would find another dealer who knows what is going on if you do put an order in on 8/16/22 for a 2023 Maverick.

If they are clueless on this they probably will leave you in the dark and clueless if you do put an order in and the whole process of confirmation email, ROVP, build email etc.

Maybe, I'll find out more tomorrow.

I just don’t want people to be misled like some here have on this forum.

Some never got their orders actually put in the system and lost out on an order they thought was valid and waited many months for only to find out the dealer had no clue on the order process and lied to the customers blaming Ford or flat out lying.

There are many threads on the ordering process. Watch Tim (Fordvideoguy) from Long McArthur Ford on YouTube. He has a weekly video explaining the ordering process and talks about other misconceptions and false statements that some dealers are telling customers.

Understandable, but I've bought a few cars from this dealership just recently a 2022 escape for my wife, I don't have a reason to believe they are incompetent. I'll update with what I find out.

They did, they asked what trim I wanted I said base model no particular options with hybrid. Dealer said we will write up a build order and email it to you. They sent me the build order I attached I signed it sent it back and they texted me saying they submitted the order and that Ford told them it would be towards the end of the year.
I call bs..this dealer isn't being honest with you! You cannot, let say again, cannot order a hybrid as of November 2021 & now can't order an EB as of January. And 2023 model year order banks are not open and won't be till mid August this year with builds starting in October 2022 for MY23
It's just that simple & if your dealer told you any different they have no clue, clearly! All you have to do is a quick Google search and 100 articles will confirm what you've been told here!

Did they get a copy of your license? That is required for an order...

But like others have said, orders closed for the hybrid long ago, and closed all together for the Maverick last month.

Sorry to say, but I don't think you got an order in. Your dealer is misinformed. You may have gotten vehicles from them in the past, but the Maverick is a completely new ordering system and a lot of dealers are clueless.

They lied, did you get an email from Ford saying that they received the order?

Its not a 2022 it's for a 2023 (y) I'm first in line when they can submit those orders. Thanks for your replies everyone.

Glad you got it sorted - sounds like that late this year/early next year was the expectation they set which is still (likely...) true, they just didn't indicate they can't actually order it yet. Not necessarily something that all car buyers really need to know or care enough about (just us enthusiasts that get up in arms over the details!).
