SOLVED!

I'M DUMB......I JUST realized this has to be fluid condensation in the exhaust/tailpipe!!!!! and on my incline was finally coming out.

🤣 🤷‍♂️

....so where is the EVAP tube btw?

I happened to have to return to my house this morning and noticed some drips on my driveway. I was curious to see who left them. Security cam show that it was my MAV when I first left. Not worried but always curious! Thanks!

All I know:
  • didn't touch fluid to see what it was
  • came from DRIVERS SIDE
  • cool morning 28F. and did an AUTO START via the app
  • appears to have "flowed" wider over time and dried up, so must be water?
Question:
  • SEARCHED to NO avail, where is the EVAP drain tube discharge?
  • I didn't have the defroster on, maybe in goes on automatically in AUTO START and turns off with key?
  • Appears to have dried up
  • NO current drip at work parking lot

There is a humidistat that will turn on ac condenser to dehumidify the air if conditions are near the dew point aka automatic defroster.

Noticed something similar on my Mav. It was condensate from the tailpipe on the driver’s side after I backed up. Checked out the driveway fluid and it was just water. Evaporated quickly with no stains. No worries.

Just posted.....it has to be the exhaust condensation hahahahah

....but also where is the EVAP drain tube going to be dripping?

I guess when its a hybrid sometimes you forget it has an ICE engine and the normalcy associated with them. 🤣

Hey man, no harm no foul, at least you learned something, and learned that it's nothing serious. We can all look back at this and have a harmless laugh. In your defense, the maverick does seem to produce a higher amount of condensation that many of the other cars I've owned. There are times, particularly when the truck was new, where we'd have the truck running with the heater on for like half an hour, and there would be like a 6 inch across puddle of water underneath it.

Funny story, when I was around 16 or 17, and was just starting to learn about cars, I did something similar. I didn't know just how much condensation was produced by having the heater running. When we backed out of the parking spot in the store, I saw this large wet puddle, that because it was on asphalt, was black. I became very nervous that it was oil that was leaking and dripping out of the engine. Now I look back on that shake my head, and laugh. We all got to learn somehow.

One byproduct of burning something (in this case, gasoline) is water vapor. Some of it blows out the exhaust pipe and some condenses in the exhaust system, if it's below the dewpoint.

There are small holes in the exhaust system for the condensate to drain out of.
