Nice! That's about what I'm expecting for winter driving here in WI. I think it will just get better since you're still in the break in period and there's a learning curve with hybrid driving to max out mpg if you really want to.

I'd love to hear from someone in Maine experiencing the -20 degree cold right now. The ICE would probably be running nonstop to keep the heat going.
Actually the ICE engine will shut off even in those conditions.

Example:

ICE engine warms up enough to provide heat (100+ engine coolant temperature) and the HV battery doesn't need additional charging and speed is such that it can drive with the electric traction motor only.

If the above happens the ICE engine will shut off. Only when the coolant temperature drops below where the heat provided is below the requested temperature or the ICE is needed for either hybrid or ICE only traction or the HV battery needs to be charged will the ICE restart.

I have seen this operation in my Maverick Hybrid here in Texas when the temperature was below freezing.
