How to get blinking 3rd brake light?

Saw a 2023 Maverick with a blinking 3rd breaklight. It blinks about 3 times when breaking. Can I just get bulb for that or
do you need to add relay?

Probably needs a relay.

There's usually a little box that gets wired into the brake light circuit at the CHMSL. I have one on the ST.

A poster on this forum told me the dealer I ordered from forced him to get the pulsing brake light. I told the dealer I didn't want it, and it was not forced on me. I question even if they are legal. Do a search on Amazon. I know the dealer was charging 400 for it.

I just bought this for another car, but haven't installed it yet. The difference in the cheaper/expensive variations usually is whether they are programmable. This one will blink one programmed cycle and hold the brake light to just steady as you modulate the brake to a stop. Cheaper ones repeatedly blink the blink cycle every time you touch the brake.

Gotta have a LED bulb then buy the $10 flasher from Amazon. Used it on 4 Kawasaki bikes and a Miata. Works great very reliable
