I've been given so much B.S. from the local dealers and the back stabbing/bad mouthing of the other local dealers. One salesman admitted that his dealership was penalized because the employees were placing fake orders and then selling them at hug markups. Another sales gal called me today and said I need to come in and finalize my order so they can place the order. When I question that ordering is closed, she said that they have a special list that gets me "to the front of the line..."
Question is how do you determine which dealer to order from based on size of their allotments? Does it matter if you order from a small or large dealership? Nor do I want to place an order from one only to find out that they may be penalized and will receive no trucks or less trucks which makes my order take even longer...what to do.... :~(
I realize some of you'all can't tell the future but a good guess would be appreciated!

Yeah, this conversation has been kicked around and around… Bottom line, get EVERYTHING in writing and have both you and the dealership sign it. If they will not, walk.

If your dealer is ordering a Maverick for you, that is not possible until 8/5 and 8/15/22 as I understand it. Just wait until you can do it yourself. Build it, print it out, and shop it at a few dealers. Decide who....and get it in airtight writing - including (especially) any dealer addons at time of pick up. Forget the allotment consideration 'cuz special orders actually help their allotments in the long haul and has no material bearing on your order timeline.

Lastly, her "front of the line" is BS. Everyone can order the same day.

This. I think the first thing to do is find out which ones are selling at MSRP. Unless you don't mind getting boned or are rich. Then start from there. But as RonFLa said signed documents with price and a dealer representative's signature. And make sure there are no add ons AFTER the dealer receives the vehicles. There are horror stories about $240 nitrogen for tires, $300 for LoJack, on & on & on...
Good luck, you're a guppie in a pool of sharks it sounds like.

Thanks all, I currently have a 2006 Ram 1500 Quad cab with 135K miles that I'm looking into selling now since I just had shoulder replacement surgery and really won't need it for the 6-9 months and as long as DW's car stays healthy. Better time to sell now than later, specially if the economy tanks and prices drop. I hope it doesn't take longer than 9 months to receive an Maverick order....did I just jinx myself?

Now, it's time to decide between the base hybrid or an Ecoboost with AWD.

Hey OP I think this should help you out a bit. I'm not positive how long ago it was updated, but this is what helped me buy at MSRP with no mark ups or dealer add-ons.

Reddit Thread with link to map

Link directly to the map

The map is pretty easy to read but also not a guarantee. Just remember that if you see a dealer that states MSRP on the map to call them and confirm with the dealer first. Also make sure that when you place your order with them, preferrably with a salesrep on site face to face you get the deal in writing. They have nothing stopping them from printing the dealer order right there on site and getting it signed. If they try to give you a reason for no signature you can expect some form of "fuckery" down the road. (pardon the french). Good luck with the hunt for an honest dealer, The truck is worth the wait IMO.

All the replies in this thread sound like they ordered from Long McArthur.

-co signed buyer's order, check
-confirmed DORA and email from Ford, check
-all retail orders at MSRP, check
-first 1000 dollars on courtesy shipping from Salina to your driveway forgiven, check
-DIO's installed with free labor costs, check
-a piece of mind knowing @fordvideoguy has your interests at heart and will not treat any different than he does his grandmother "LM motto", check

No need to go elsewhere come 8-15, put in your order as soon as the guide comes out (or as late as 8-15 and sleep well at night knowing LM is aware of price protection, transportation hiccups, Smart VINCENT, CONCEPS, Vehicle Visibility Report and ESP plans.
