Just spoke with my salesman at my smallish local Ford dealer here in North Carolina and he changed my priority code from 19 to 10 for me. I was the first Maverick order there, I ordered June 14; had been trying to order since June 9.

Anyway, I also learned that they have 9 Mavericks on order. One other XL in addition to mine, 6 XLT's, and 1 Lariat. All are front wheel drive except 2 XLT's are AWD. These are all customer orders.

Interesting, so I thought I would share.

9 on order at a small dealer. Makes you wonder how many are on order.

I know of 3 from my local dealer and 5 from the other local dealer. This info is about 2 weeks out of date though.

All I know is that my local dealer has not placed my order. I made my reservation on 6-14 at the dealership.

😮 That's Crazy!!! What's their excuse? I'd be contacting a different dealer.

I ordered through Granger when my local dealer didn't seem to understand what a Maverick was and told me pricing on custom ordered vehicles could be MSRP or above due to "current market conditions"

Florida dealers are awful and will charge crazy dealer fees near $1000 because they can.

My dealer placed my order the next day in WEBDO for me. The dealership even got some documents from me proving that I was a real customer in case Ford asks. Dealer believes some dealership might be reserving Mavericks just to get them on the lot and sell them by stating they are customer reservations and not dealer ordered. There is no deposit required on a reservation unlike the Bronco, so FORD has no proof the reservations are actual customers.

Below is the response I got when I told them I wanted my deposit back (they told me I could have it by the way) but I am confused by the response based on what I have read here. People here appear to be able to order their Mavericks, that they are doing more than just reserving. I also watched a video on youtube from a dealer in Salina Kansas (Long McArther) which indicated to me that some dealers are either clueless about the Maverick or are being somewhat shady when it comes to ordering a Maverick.

I understand that Mavericks are not being built yet, I just wanted to be in line for a build as I wanted to try and get it sooner rather than later. This is the first time I tried to order a vehicle and I won't be doing it again. I may just wait until I can buy one used.

Oredering isn't factual. They are reserving only at this point. The vehicle hasn't even been finalized for a build.

What people are doing is picking the equiptment they prefer. On Fords end nothing is happening other than that person having a future buid reserved. Same for the Ford Lightning.

If they can't produce the normal inventory how would they be building these units? The national chip shortage has affected all production for current model years. Future designs will come after.

Don't forget 20,000 people are still waiting on Bronco that was ordered over a year ago.

The Bronco problems happened because of chip shortages + top quality control issues with a supplier + some other supplier issues

The Bronco Sport / Maverick / Escape is a different platform entirely, uses older hardware for the infotainment etc and shouldn't have production delays to the extent the Bronco and F150 etc did. Placing an order now gets you in line for the order to be finalized and scheduled for production. Ford builds customer orders before dealer stock orders as much as possible, so by placing an order now, you have an order in the queue for Ford to preview and schedule for building, and when it gets to the dealer, you can test drive it and buy it, ideally at a pre-arranged price like from @Dealerinsider at 4% below invoice or @Granger Ford at 3% under invoice.

Sorry your dealer sucks.

Ordered in PA Ford dealership at invoice price on 06/10/2021. As it was too new and I wanted invoice price the General Sales Manager handled my order directly. No hassle, just paid deposit $500, signed order and additional sale form from Ford to validate I am retail customer. Ford confirmation email came before I left the dealership. all in all about 30-40 mins.

@Granger Ford is Albert, who recently passed away. I think Sean is handling Maverick orders at Granger. Either way, 3%. Good suggestion.

Also sorry your dealer sucks, OP.

Yes, Sean is still helping. This is Zach trying to fill in and help since Albert has passed.

We'll do our best to fill in the gaps in Albert's absence.

Hey Zach, thanks for popping on here to help. How many Maverick orders are you up to and what's your initial allocation?

Hey Zach, thanks for popping on here to help. How many Maverick orders are you up to and what's your initial allocation?

As of today we have 28 Maverick orders submitted. Our initial allocation was 1. Then they sweeper our "approved" retail orders and that bumped up to 11. We've had a lot of retail orders approved after that 11 was awarded to us, to get to our total of 28 now.

I'd anticipate having the remaining 17 picked up in next months allocation.
