How Do You Remove DeeZee Tailgate Assist?

I’m running into trouble trying to temporarily remove my DeeZee Tailgate Assist. For the install the shock just popped on. Tried pressure by hand and pry bar. No luck.

Need some expert advice from MTC! Anyone know how to remove?
