I have a 24 hybrid lariat love the truck but sometimes when it starts it sometimes seems to go full throttle like it’s stuck then hit the gas and it goes away I don’t really like that can’t be good for it and the radio also it’s like it has no memory got to reset it most of the time more so then not it shouldn’t do that but that’s the only issues I’ve had with mine if anyone has ran across this I could use some insite ty

Yes---I don’t get it, why the infotainment defaults to the FM radio whenever I shut the truck down. Mine has done that since I got it last February. Occasionally it stays on my music, but for the most part it defaults.

Sure it's only the sound of the engine?

Because if the engine is running in cold from the start - so is the generator motor - and that can be loud too.

Be interesting to start with engineering mode and quickly get to the RPM reading to see what it really is doing.

My cold fast idle is about 1500, unless engine is running to recharge HVB in which case upwards of 2400, then normal idle around 1250.
The 2400 sounds much louder than 1250 obviously.

I wasn’t there to see it, but a good guess is that your high voltage battery was low, so the computer instructed it to rev up to make enough power to charge the battery. Atkinson cycle engines make poor low end torque, so they need to be 3,500-4,000 rpm before you can give them any kind of load when the engine is cold, or it will just fall on its face.

blipping the throttle to override it is probably written into the code as a way to tell the computer that you want it to stop doing what it’s doing.

That said, I don’t own a Maverick hybrid and am basing my experience on owning Toyota hybrids.
