Hello all,
I'm attempting to replace the front door speakers on my '25 Hybrid.
I got Kicker CSC 6.5" speakers.
I got the Metra 82-5605 adapter rings that Crutchfield suggests.
when I mount the speaker/adapter on the door, I cannot get the door trim to sit flush!
The new speaker and adapter seem to protrude out too far to let the trim sit flat. In other words, the new speaker + adapter plate are "taller" than the factory speaker, which seems to be the problem.
Did I get the wrong adapter? Crutchfield said use the 82-5605. But Metra Electronics doesn't even have a listing for '25 Mav. They do have a listing for a '24 Mav and they say to use a different adapter (82-5604). does anyone know if the 5604 sits lower?
Do I have to trim the door panel? It seems like the real problem is the "ring" that is molded into the door panel. Do I have to shave that off? (sorry no picture).
Has anyone else run into this problem?
Thanks to everyone in advance!
