I surely hope I am not jumping the gun! I’ve been waiting a long time for my 2023 Lariat hybrid, Area 51. After nearly a full year of excuses, I am told it will be built the third week of August, which means I should have it sometime by the end of October or thereabouts.

It’s replacing a 2019 Ford Flex, which works well, but not really appropriate for my tool-carrying work. A Ranger is too big and F-series way too big. And the Maverick as most of you know is the only small truck made today. The Hyundai Santa Cruz isn’t a truck, and don’t get me laughing. Flex gets close to 24 miles per gallon on the highway but only about 16 miles per gallon around town. My friend’s Maverick hybrid gets 46+ miles per gallon around town and that was a big reason for the hybrid. I don’t need to race a Ram hemi off the line, I don’t need 12 inches of ground clearance, I don’t need to go off road, I don’t need four-wheel-drive, and I don’t need to tow 5000 pounds.

My dealer is in Michigan, and we live in North Carolina. We are a Ford family and have been since my wife worked in finance at Ford for 31 years.

So, crossing my fingers that the order doesn’t get canceled at the last moment.

Congratulations on receiving your build date! I recently received my date also, Week of Sept 11 they should build my Hybrid XLT Area 51 with 4 pin trailer hitch and Ford Co-Pilot 360! My dealer is just a few miles down the highway, easy for me to get there.
I miss having a small truck. Had a GMC Sonoma some time ago. Got hit from behind while stopped for a School Bus. Rocked my world and wrecked my little truck...Glad to have the ability to get into another!

Welcome.

My truck is also scheduled for the same build week as yours. I hope to have it by my birthday in October. But if not, it will not be unusual. and I will continue to patiently wait. Many on this forum have had to wait much longer than you and I have been waiting - much longer.

We’ve used the same dealer for many years thus moving from Michigan to North Carolina didn’t cause us to change. The NC dealers generally don’t respect or honor employee and retiree pricing either, something a Michigan dealer couldn’t get away with.
Just waiting for that “it’s built” note from the dealer. They get the news quicker than I’ll get from Ford.

Aloha! Welcome.

Not saying it will happen but mine was delivered to Iowa 13 days after it came off the line. Michigan isnt much farther.

@Maverickman74 that’s absolutely astounding! In decades of ordering dozens upon dozens of Fords, never had anything delivered that quickly! 🤞

Pretty close to my situation but I am retired. Ordered a Hybrid Lariat in 2021, waited 15 months and it was built on the first day of 2023 production. I got it in January and I COULDN"T BE HAPPIER!

Yes, some are having legitimate issues, but I have had NONE! Some folks out there would bitch if they were hung with a new rope, so sit back and you just might be pleased with your decision.

Just found out from my dealer that my Maverick was "released from production today" that being August 25. How long it will take to move onto a train and then to the metro Detroit area is anyone's guess. My wife's Escape hybrid was released from production on 25-July (Louisville) but has yet to ship, so we're in a bit of a mystery period awaiting any further information. Based on earlier information I expected to receive the Maverick sometime in late October, allowing for undetermined hold periods, indeterminate shipping, being waylaid somewhere along the way all before it actually gets to the dealer.

So, it's been produced but still in a wait and see mode.

My using a Flex as a work truck is getting old...really old...

Finally after 13 months of waiting my 2023 arrived. Lariat edition. I installed the WeatherTech Alloy metal folding tonneau.

it replaced a 2019 Ford Flex which I had for nearly 4 years.
