I'm glad to have found this forum. We are inclined to buy one, but there are so many things to sort through. I think I work to soak in what people have been saying and then see what questions that leaves in my mind. I'm a 70 year old architect, semi-retired.

I had a 2002 Sport Trac for 12 years then 2 years without. Found out about the Maverick and ordered one the next day. It arrived on my 73 birthday. 97 days from ordering. Kept it simple and cheap by ordering standard XLT, white with hitch. Like it enough to keep it.

Been trouble free. Did one recall where they drilled holes in lower body/engine air cover. 1/2 hour. Love the gas mileage and the AC when it's hot. Have used it as a truck a few times. Move a friends apartment to storage, hauled a motorcycle, some lumber, etc.

Sorry to hear about your Tacoma. The Maverick will be worth the compensation. If you have a garage keep it secure or if you leave it out get a robust alarm system. If you go with the hybrid you’ll like the mpg....it’s astounding.
