Just posting my greetings as a (as of tomorrow) new owner of a Maverick XL. I’m going to be honest, I had no idea this truck existed prior to about 2 weeks ago. Typically a buy a car these days and drive it till it becomes unreliable or dies. Case in point being totaling the last 2 on my way to work (1 when a deer jumped into the side of it and rolling down the entire side and this recent one hydroplaning in a wintery mix on a low spot in the interstate at 5 AM headed in to work). I’ve only ever purchased 1 new vehicle prior to this as well. The current market being what it is, I started researching what was new out there and saw the Maverick… Being a 90’s ranger owner (first truck was a 92’ and then my 3rd vehicle I bought was a 98’ that was eventually modded), seeing the size of this was bringing back memories. So I started looking… Then realized I’d never find one. I’ve called dealers every day when new “inventory” pops up (and came to find out that was basically preorders that were being shipped). I turned to looking at Santa Cruz after finding out about the Maverick and being discouraged no one had one. Then the insurance company finally notified me today they were totaling it and more concerning was I had about 3 hours to get them the title to get the check before mid week next week. Oh, but they were terminating the rental tomorrow either way. And as luck would have it, a dealer I’d contacted a couple times called me today. He said I’ve got a white XL AWD with the. 2.0L in it available with several add ons and it wasn’t marked up crazy like any other make or model I’d called about. So I told him let’s do (I had about 15 mins to make a decision) this and put an application for credit in and a deposit on it. I’m headed in the morning to pick it up several hours away. It’s not exactly the trim level I wanted but right now I need a vehicle and beggars can’t be choosers. I used to be heavy into modding the only other new car I’ve ever purchased (an 01’ Civic EX I purchased the summer after high school). So I’m sure that this one will see some practical for me mods. Found this forum while searching for mavericks for sale in the last 2 weeks. Look forward to following along here and seeing what kind of crazy stuff other owners come up with that end up being something I end up needing in mine. Here’s to a couple hundred thousand miles on this one (hopefully).

Yes. Picked it up earlier. Digging the little truck so far.
I have a hybrid xl ordered thru them, they have received several Maverick so I am hopeful.

They’re nice folks. Mark was a good salesman. Easy to deal with. The sales manager was great. Kinda shocked I wasn’t given a hat or pen or shirt though 😂😂

The sales manager has always been easy to talk to, answer any questions. I saw your car the day before , it had just arrived. Someone was taking it to fill up, it had a lot of zip.
