Do you sell these Maverick-specific adapters separately? I don't think these are the same as I see in your accessories area.

Thank you, HRG
Hey Hot Runr Guy, the plug-and-play harness actually comes included right in the box with the dashcam, so you don't need to buy it separately.

The ones in the accessories section are actually 5V adapters for generic 3rd-party cams. As long as you pick the right version for your Maverick's model year, everything you need for the install is already included.

I understand, my question was more for using your adapter to get a USB-A or C output to use with a different brand dashcam.

Unfortunately, we don't currently have a Maverick-specific adapter that breaks out to a USB-A or USB-C port for 3rd-party cams—our Maverick harness is strictly designed for our 12V unit.

Does your Maverick happen to have the auto-dimming rearview mirror or rain-sensing wipers? Let us know what setup you've got and we can go from there.

No, no auto-dimming mirror. But, if your output is 12V DC, it's certainly easy enough to add a 12V to USB adapter. Your harness would be a plug & plug way to tap into the factory harness, without splicing.

Thank you, HRG

@Mangoal_Support I have been wanting to install a dash cam since I got my 2024 Lariat Hybrid nearly 3 years ago but hadn’t seen one yet that I liked the look and installation. This looks perfect. I have a couple of questions for Mangoal and anyone else on here who has knowledge pertaining to my questions. Here it goes:

1) Does the model A 4k dash cam use Starvis 1?
2) Assuming #1 answer is yes, I would love opinions on whether upgrading to the Starvis 2 version is worth the $$
3) I installed a Hyundai auto dimming mirror with compass and Homelink. The model # is S8F62AU000. It’s the OEM mirror for a Hyundai Palisade. The wiring harness I used to install it has a USB-C pigtail for the purpose of powering a dashcam. Do you have an adapter that would let me plug this into that rather than the lane change assist plug?
4) anyone have links to an install video for front and rear on a 2022-2024 Maverick with a sunroof?

Ah, I see what you're trying to do.

Unfortunately, we don't sell our Maverick Y-harness separately, and we wouldn't recommend modifying it to power a USB dash cam. It's designed and validated specifically for the Mangoal dash cam, so altering the wiring could lead to power or compatibility issues.

Since our USB adapters rely on the factory auto-dimming mirror or rain sensor connectors, we don't currently have a plug-and-play solution for trims without those options.

We do appreciate the suggestion, though. Feedback like this helps us understand what owners are looking for.

My concern would be if someone ran a stop sign and hit me, but my gps data showed I was doing 30 mph in a 25 mph zone, that could be a case for them claiming contributory negligence on my part.
It can go both ways, though.

In one of my final cases, as old clients kept coming up with things to put it off, one was hit.

The kid that did it not only lied, but got his cousin to lie. They claimed my client swerved out to the right of his lane while he was making a left turn (while in fact the kid swerved left).

In my initial contact, I demanded preservation of the black box from the offending vehicle--which put a hold on the vehicle entirely.

They accepted liability pretty much the next day.

I don't know if the maverick has such a box (not my normal areas of practice; there was a conflict referring this where I normally would have sent it), so make sure it's an expensive car that hits you!

I answered my own last question. Here is a YouTube video link that is pretty good for the front+rear camera install.

Yeah, it records sound by default, but you can easily turn it off in the app. Just head into the settings and toggle off "Sound Recording"(see screenshot below)

Depending on what state you’re in, the liability laws will determine the impact of any fault on your part. Pure Contributory Negligence, Pure Comparative Fault, Modified Comparative Fault, etc.

I answered my own last question. Here is a YouTube video link that is pretty good for the front+rear camera install.

Thanks for sharing that installation video! It's a great reference for anyone routing the camera cable.

To answer your other questions:

STARVIS
Yes. The standard Model uses Sony's STARVIS sensor (IMX335).

Is STARVIS 2 worth it?
If you do a lot of night driving, we'd say yes. STARVIS 2 offers improved low-light performance and HDR, which can noticeably reduce headlight glare and make details like license plates easier to capture at night. For mostly daytime driving, the standard version already delivers excellent image quality.

USB-C mirror harness
Our Maverick dash cam is designed to run on a 12V supply. Most USB-C mirror adapters provide 5V output, so they aren't compatible with our system. For a proper installation, we recommend using the included Lane Assist Y-harness, which supplies the correct 12V power.

Let us know if you have any other questions, and we'd love to hear how the installation goes!

uhh, yeah, I am a lawyer, though I'm trying to get the last couple of cases closed because I'm supposed to be retired.

but showing what, if any, partial fault comes down to evidence, all of which depend upon the cameras and back boxes

I assume that the provided harness will be compatible with the power sunroof?

Anyone think it’s possible to use a wire fish and feed the rear camera wire above the headliner rather than tucking it along the door openings where the air bags are?
