No. The GPS included with the Mangoal dash cam does not integrate with the Ford infotainment system or instrument cluster.

Its GPS is used to:
  • Record the vehicle's location, speed, heading, and time along with the video.
  • Display your route and location when reviewing footage in the Mangoal app or compatible video player.

It does not:
  • Display a live navigation map on the factory SYNC screen.
  • Add navigation to vehicles that don't already have it.
  • Send GPS data to the Ford infotainment system.

The dash cam operates independently of the vehicle's display—it records GPS metadata for your videos but doesn't interact with the factory navigation system.

One of the best features is how unobtrusive it is. It blends in seamlessly with the factory interior, and you almost forget it's there until you need to review the footage.
Thanks for jumping in and helping out, really appreciate it.
You've shared a lot of great feedback with us, and it's awesome to see you helping other Maverick owners too.

I bought a front camera from Amazon and no way is this thing 4k. Is the difference the sensor? I don’t think the one I have has the Sony sensor? https://a.co/d/00qvIF7z
Just to clarify, that link is actually a Fitcamx unit, not ours—though the OEM-style housings look pretty similar from the outside.

You're spot on about the sensor, though. That specific model uses a GC4653 sensor and upscales native 4MP to "4K" in software, which is why the footage looks soft.

That's actually why we stick with Sony STARVIS sensors across our Mangoal lineup (along with metal heat sinks). Native resolution and dynamic range make a massive difference over software tricks, especially at night. 👀

midnight43026 (Mike) is very knowledgeable about this dashcam. In fact he has a valuable
video that I hope he posts, curious if Mangoal has solved this before I purchase.

Thanks, Mike !
Mike's feedback was incredibly helpful, and we've been making improvements based on what we learned from early Maverick owners.

Just to clarify, the camera angle adjustment only applies to Model B, which is the version designed for the 2025+ Maverick. Model A is not affected by this issue.

If you decide to order one, let me know. I'd be happy to help make sure you receive our latest revision. It may take a little longer as the updated units are currently still in production, but we think it's worth the wait.

I don’t see pictures of the rear camera?
Here’s what the rear camera looks like. It’s a small cylinder unit that mounts directly to the inside rear glass (and rotates 360° so you can adjust the angle).

If you decide to pick one up, just make sure to select the front + rear option before checkout.

Will the unit function properly if you elect not to install the GPS antenna?

The gps is not needed, but you can just install it right under the mirror trim. There is a small void there that looks like it's for a gps antenna.

Without it, no position/speed meta data is recorded, but everything else functions as it should.
