I have several fast 3.0 32 and 64GB USB drives with and this seems to be happening on all of them now. (The USB-C port is used for my phone but can be swapped is it will make a difference.)

I did not have this issue when I first got my 2023 Lariat in July. My USB drives have about 8000 songs on them and hundreds of album...total songs equate to about 26 GB and drives are Ext-Fat format.

I used to be able to search for albums using the screen while driving but that is no longer possible since it seems an update or two disabled that feature. When I use the steering wheel control to search for an artist or song it usually tells me synch is still organizing...and this takes place for an hour or two or sometimes forever. Never had this issue months ago. I also noticed that pushing the steering wheel voice control button doesn't seem to always be recognized and this also did not happen months ago.

Am I overextending the abilities of this Synch system?? Too many songs?? If seems like it should remember the USB drive once installed and categorized but that doesn't appear to be the case.

My 2010 GT500 Shelby with a much older Sync system works much better and faster than my Maverick.

I believe the truck writes an index file on the USB stick, maybe the index from your old truck is on there and is confusing the new one?
