Looks to me that the strap is temporarily tucked into the trucks door handle to keep it off the ground and clean while he loads and hasn't thrown it over top of load yet.Never hauled much before in a truck, so I am genuinely asking... is it safe to use the handles as anchors?
Lol!Never hauled much before in a truck, so I am genuinely asking... is it safe to use the handles as anchors?
I guess as long as you keep windows downNever hauled much before in a truck, so I am genuinely asking... is it safe to use the handles as anchors?
Yes - only use tie-down anchors !!!No. Tying to fixed points is safe; like the tiedown loops in the bed, loops on the tailgate, onto the bedrail, etc. I'm assuming OP just had the slack from the strap tucked in the handle temporarily.
@Binjobbed technically your family was right! It definitely didn't fit! But that doesn't mean you didn't make it work - kudos!![]()
Definitely had tailgate down - 0ne section was over 80 inches long!Shoot, you didn't even have the tailgate open! You could've hauled more ....
In my younger days, I hauled ridiculous loads in and on my Ford Focus. I was that guy people were taking pictures of in the Lowes parking lot.
The Maverick is better.
How did I miss that the first time?! OK, you get the bonus after all.Definitely had tailgate down - 0ne section was over 80 inches long!
Qualifies for Guinness finalist!
Loaded up this couch onto my small hybrid truck and transported it an hour away without Incident(wife and family said it would never fit). Saved over $200 in delivery and tax fees.![]()
I paid a guy $25 once about 1970 to move an upright piano. He showed up in a station wagon that had a pickup style tailgate the window retracted into which he loaded by himself and roped it to the luggage rack. I don't know where the Polaroid of that is.I Tetris'ed a couch, loveseat and chair into my Honda Element once. Had to ride with the rear hatch open, but other than that, great success!
I would have paid money to see that! Trying to move a piano is a PITA!!I paid a guy $25 once about 1970 to move an upright piano. I wouldn't dare call the cops on 300 drunken bagpipers as most likely 100 of them would be cops....and probably somehow related to them.I would have paid money to see that! Trying to move a piano is a PITA!!
This kinda reminds me...we knew these two Scottish guys - Craig and Gary - who were both talented craftsmen. Craig could build anything and Gary was a brilliant electrician, and both possessed natural brute strength for being only 5'7" each. My mother often employed one or both of them to do various projects around our home, and one project was painting the outside second story of our home. I'll never forget the sight of coming home from school to find Craig holding Gary upside-down by his ankles out of the second story bedroom window painting the side of the house. Honestly surprised no one lost their life that day.
Gary, unfortunately, put himself into a diabetic coma and passed away in 1994. At the time, my mother was living in NC and had rented the house out to Craig to do a kitchen remodel and other tasks prior to her selling the home, and for whatever reason (not sure if this is a Scottish thing) Gary's wake was held at the house. Try to imagine 300 drunken Scots and Irishmen milling around with the bagpipes going full blast. Surprised none of the neighbors called the cops.
