I would like to entertain the idea of taking the maverick to the track.. mine is a ecob with tow pkg, expecting that the brake pads won't like it much and curious if anyone has tracked their maverick if you did anything beyond replacing brake fluid with something better able to handle the temps.

I see heavy duty pads out there but not sure i will find any 'performance' pads.

I have not but plan to. I have spare rims and tires form my rs that will go on. Then probably swap pads with some
Ebc blue and see how it goes. Well and fluid. But maybe check with cobalt friction. He has amazing track pads much better than hawk. And as soon as I get my mav he is will to make me pads for it.

I have had no good experience with ceramic pads on the track, fading when used hard. Semi metallic seem to work best if you street drive as well not needing heat to work well. Pure track pads can be dangerous on the street.
Don't know for sure but Bronco Sport pads should fit and there are a few "performance" pads available. Even less sure would be Focus and Escape parts.

I know they look cool but stay away from drilled rotors though slotted ones are preferred.

I know everyone is against drilled rotors. And yes in theory that should be the point of failure but I must toss out I’ve used drilled rotors before for my track cars and can say I’ve found nothing that is concerning to me with them. I think a quality rotor is just that and bad ones are also that.
Slotted and dimpled is more likely what up will find though.

not a fan of drilled, but yes if you spend good money on quality they should be fine. i have tracked my mx-5 and BRZ and on both i relied on centric blanks and gloc pads.

I use dimpled and slotted. Not for degas as most good pads don’t need it but you get significantly better cooling from slotted rotors than smooth. G locks are good pads but I found cobalt friction to be better especially on the Mazdas. I have a feeling it’s because the owner is a huge Mazda fan and has something like 15 of them they track.
