Have tried the "procedure" (and several variants) about 15 times so far ... no success. The vehicle (2022 Lariat 2.0L EB RKE/Remote Start/Proximity Sens) has never once responded as the "procedure" suggests. Still open to suggestions.

2.0: Has anyone found a kit that removes and replaces the entire RKE system and replaces it with a brass ignition key starter with a steering wheel lock?
From what I understand, this method doesn't work on the Lariat.

Key programming - 2023 Ford Maverick Lariat 2.0 litre EcoBoost with pushbutton start.

You need two keys before you can create additional ones. I had only one key, so I got a locksmith to make a second. I asked the locksmith to clear any other keys that may have been associated with the previous owner, as I heard there are a limited number of keys you can make. The locksmith said he would zero both keys and start fresh. I’m not sure this makes any difference but I wanted to note everything I did.

I made sure to look up the FCC ID from the original key before ordering one from Amazon It is located in tiny print in a cavity that is revealed when you pullout the manual key.

FCC ID = M3N-A2C93142300
Part number = 164-R8163 or HC3T-15K601-AD
This key runs at 315MHz

I purchased two of these keys - https://www.amazon.com/TUCKBOLD-Explorer-2018-2022-M3N-A2C93142300-Replacement/dp/B0D8QFGKKZ
Keyless Entry Remote suitable for Ford Ecosport 2018-2020, for Ford Edge 2017-2020, for Ford Explorer 2018-2020, for Ford F-150 2018-2020, for Ford F-250 2017-2020, for Ford F-350 2017-2020, for Ford F-450 2017-2020, for Ford F-550 2017-2020, for Ford Fusion 2017-2018, for Ford for Ranger 2019-2020.
The battery in both keys were dead on arrival. They still programmed and would start the vehicle from the backup starting location, but the buttons didn't work until I replaced the batteries.

I was unsuccessful the first attempts. I kept getting a notice that the key did not program successfully. These are the instructions that finally worked for me:

Make sure all the doors are closed prior to beginning this procedure and they remain closed until the procedure is complete.
  1. Locate the passive key backup starting location in the center armrest console.
  2. Place the first programmed key in the backup starting location (buttons up). Press the START/STOP button.
  3. Wait 5 seconds and then press the START/STOP button.
  4. Remove the first previously programmed key.
  5. Within 10 seconds, place the second previously programmed key in the backup starting location and press the START/STOP button.
  6. Wait 5 seconds and press the START/STOP button.
  7. Remove the second previously programmed key.
  8. Within 10 seconds, place the new blank key in the backup starting location and press the START/STOP button. DO NOT PRESS and HOLD as some instructions suggest (this was where I went wrong on my first attempts).
  9. The door locks will cycle and the headlights will flash, then the screen will note the successful programming of your key.
