Noooooo, do not let them do a credit check. My dealer told me no way they needed to do that. When you lock in a special APR at ordering it is not until you pick up your truck that they check and see if you qualify. I have my credit frozen anyway so they would not get much until I decide they can.

Thank you. I plan to go through my credit union, not Ford Credit.
I wish I could but they are double the rate Ford from last year and have to have a pretty high credit score.

No way one pull dropped your credit 16 points. Either something else happened the same time, or there is an issue you should be checking into. I had a office incorrectly forward me to collections on a bill I paid in full on time. Because I was watching my credit I got it addressed promptly.

I had the power company do a write off 6 years ago for an account. Didn't know it was out there because we had moved and the forwarding address was wrong. Only $100 when I tried to dispute it or pay to clear... No go because it happened and not worth it to a utility to take time to address. Darn thing is sitting on my credit still for another year. Fico has me at Very Good despite everything else being perfect because they put tons of stock in that. Transunion has me 80 points higher because they look more at other factors and context.

Watch your credit guys and if something looks weird dig in.
I checked into it I was shocked as well I tried to apply for FMC with my freezes all on then did it with my freezes off sent letters to the credit agencies still no response credit it back up from January 2022 well it probably would be but I bought a classic car on my credit card at an auction so I am now around 787 High Credit Usage

Per Experian a hard pull should drop about 5 points or less and with very good credit hardly any. If that really happened I'd have disputed a 16 point drop is absurd.

Yes, I read that as well (why I was angry and confused). I am just stating what happened. I don't understand why it happened. I was mad that it happened. I tried to find out why it happened.
After a few months I just said why do I really care? I moved on to something more ineterest-ing. I have dedicated more thought time and energy to this thread than I have the credit hit.
