Howdy,
My name is Ed. I've been reading the MTC News/Forms for a number of months and finally decided to make a post.
I was a S/W engineer/teacher working in High Tech since '81, retired a couple of years ago. I'm 68 years young. In late September '23, I purchased a new XLT Hybrid. I really enjoy and love his little truck. I traded in a 2010 Ram 1500 4x4 Crew cab. I liked the RAM, got lots of use/value out of it, but it was time for a smaller, more economical truck. I've made a number of additions
Ford additions include:
1. Rubber bed-mat
2. Front seat covers
3. Front and rear floor mats
4. Tailgate protector
5. Drivers side bed-storage box
6. Cab Spoiler
Non Ford Additions, in order of importance:
1. Strut Tower anti-sway Brace (my design, build)
2. Tonneau Cover
3. Tailgate Assist Shock
4. Tailgate extender
5. Rear Cup Holder + trash bin (3D printed)
6. Dashboard Storage Organizer
7. Carbon Fiber Style Door Sill Protector
8. Fender Flares
9. Center Arm rest cover
10. SiriusXM Radio via BlueTooth (3D printer the Cubby phone mount)
11. Screen Protector
12.Tailgate Insert Letters
13. Center Console Organizer Tray
14. Tailgate Seal
15. Stubby Antenna
16. Bed side-rails
17. Back passenger, under the seat safe
18. "Blackout" tail lights
19. Daytime grill running lights
20. Tail gate hole plugs (3D printed)
21. 1 amp FOCO trickle charger (fix deep sleep)
I've done some metal design fabrication and decided to build my own Strut tower anti-sway bar, instead of getting one from Steeda. My design I used 1" tubing for the cross member and 1" tubing + 1/2" tubing for the supports. A major improvement to handling; mountain driving, roundabouts, turning. First I made the supports, built a "Jig" for the top alignment, then cut and shaped the cross member.
