Thats fine thats your opinion but I disagree. I'm not as trusting as you are dealing with someone I have never even heard of up (until the other day), given they are about 16 hours away, and are not members of the BBB. I typically complete business transactions with good business acumen in writing, and not on emotion or wishful thinking. I look to protect my interest and hard earned assets.
Despite what the factory rep told you I was just told last week by another large volume dealer that if I order now don't expect a May delivery. It may be on the order of 7 to 8 months from order placement.
That dealer may not have any allocations left.
Up to you

Hundreds of us here, f150 forums, Bronco forums have ordered and everything is on the up and up with @grangerford

But, if yur not comfortable; don't do it. Easy enough

First off, I think BBB is out dated not relevant now a days, my grnadma/mom/older fellows use it and such, but my peers, seems like we dont even know what it is anymore. I use google reviews/ forums/word of mouth over BBB. My opinion purely. its lost a lot of presence. - I just did some reading a lot of companies straight up dropping out of BBB as a whole.

I have been on mustang6g forum for like 6 years now, and since I do nothing at work but play on my pc/phone for 8 hours a day. I see literally every post that comes across the forums. I a forum hoe. if I saw bad things, trust me, I wouldn't have gave them business.

They have a good reputation among the mustang community, and when I joined here and saw the same presence and their customer service to me was good, sold me. cant go wrong.

I wouldn't try to steer you the wrong way, but they have a good reputation, if they screwed people over, they wouldn't on the forums, they'd be blasted over all the forums.

I forgot to add that I agree with you on the BBB. They have no teeth or legal authority and now with the internet there presence is not as it once was. What I have found is that most local companies that have an affiliation with the Chamber of Commerce are often times members of the BBB. As I recall I think Granger Motors although not a member of the BBB had a D- rating and I believe it was attributable to not responding to complaints. The number reported was really insignificant with respect to the size of the company. So I take it with a grain of salt as I do most reviews I read on social media. I'm initially leary of some reviews as well. I know from my own experience I have ordered a number of items off sites such as Amazon and numerous times I received followup solicitation indicating that if I give their company a good rating they will give me XYZ for free.

what's funny, BBB last year tried to rent one of our floors in our 14 story building to put one of their headquarters or something in dayton ohio, they got rejected. they didnt want to pay the fees and backed out in the end, no agreement.

Yes, agreed. Sounds like enough of you folks have vetted Granger or there would have been more negative comments. The $500 just came as a surprise as there was no mention of it when we spoke and traded several emails back and forth. Of the other dealers I contacted most did not require a deposit when I asked. One even indicated it was not even a problem if I did not want it on delivery. That they would have no problem selling it to someone else. Anyway of 5 Dealerships I contacted with respect to an order 4 did not want any deposit, and 1 wanted $200 ..... so $500 was a first for me.

That’s because you got it from me, on their actual granger page it says in the agreement about it. I kinda slipped you the email and didn’t say anything extra

on their official buy a maverick page they explain the 500
Fee and why and process, I read all that before I contacted them. My fault

As others have said, your choice. I had the Granger experience, $180 + $30 for the temp tag, no issues- transaction was simple, price did not change and no extras were attached. First I heard of Granger was on this site, I understand your hesitation, worked perfectly for me.

SO again, If the dealers that you have contacted that don't want a deposit are ones that DO NOT have allocations. They are just submitting your order in hopes it gets built. That was my local dealer in IL. Once I asked again about allocations the Salesman was like ; Oh, No we dont have any of those left. But it will get built....... Ya; Okay.

Ask the local dealers if they have Maverick Allocations. Most wont even answer; I promise that. Ask Granger....... They will be totally up front. @Granger Ford might even chime in on this thread. But Again, They are totally transparent with sales. THey will even figure out the Taxes for your area and they will add it to the total of the quote if you like. They give you a TEMP tag (cost is I believe 25.00) that allows you to drive it home. It is good for Transport of said vehicle and is good for I believe 30 days (my memory is shorter than my pecker anymore) But Ask about all of that when you ask for a quote. They add that tax title and license in with the sale and Overnight UPS the check that is made out for your locations DMV. Ask to speak to Shelby Dittmer (Sales Manager) I think shes still there. And she is ALSO very Very Friendly and Helpful. SHe can get you everything quoted; and I also suggest getting the FORD ESP warranty. Please check that out. It is the cheapest around and why not roll that into the total price right off?

Here is the link to get the info on the warranty https://grangerfordextendedwarranty.com/

Again, NOT trying to push you to go with them. Oh wait....... Maybe I am. But I know you will not be disappointed with them.

Did you buy out of state? I know he said something about collecting tax ( I'm assuming it is what is due in my state but we did not discuss in detail) and then writing a check and sending it in, or giving it to me to, I assume, to turn into DMV. I'm not clear on those details.
They did put $180 as the doc fee, and then $68 for the transit tax (which I assume is a temp registration until I get back home)

Forgot to say; Dealers that dont have allocations WANT you to order and NOT pickup. That way they can have one on the lot! You can thak that to the bank. THey cant order for on their lot. But If Joe Shmo Orders (that is why they want a Drivers License) orders and dont pick up it then can go to their lot. SHady? Yes. But some are that way.

The Truck I ordered in IL that was Finally Delivered in October went to their lot; It was sold the next week. So it was a Win for them. But Still pissed me off that they didnt tell me they didnt have allocations until I pressed and pressed them.

Thanks, I'm 99% sure I will proceed based on everything I have seen on here in the last couple of days.
I was not clear on "allocations". I did not know if a dealer needed an allocation for each vehicle they ordered under the dealership name, and how many they get, how often and how often they get them doled out. I assumed it had something to do with the number of cars they sell. I was also thinking that maybe if you place an order in your name then the dealer it gets submitted to automatically gets an allocation. I had one dealer (this was early November) tell me he had no allocations but he could order in my name. He did that and within a minute I had an email from Ford saying the order was placed. Within 2 weeks I had another email from Ford with the VIN number and a build date of week of Feb 10. I only spoke to that local dealer once and he said he would honor the X plan. But, despite emailing 3 times and calling about a half dozen times I still have not received pricing or anything else. I left messages or told the individual answering to have him call back. I have not heard from him since. This guy was the General Sales Manager. So I expect he will end up selling to somebody else for more money. Hence, my search for another dealer.

You know I think I have read the detail on all the dealer web pages, except for Grainger one. I definitely need to do that. Had I done that I guess I would have been aware of the $500 deposit. My first awareness was the Invoice I received in the email this morning. There was also another mailing that had about 10 bullets that I have to concur with and initial then sign the bottom and return by 1/11 days with the deposit.

Yup, They get allocations based off of previous sales. Also If they dont have allocations for dealer stock; they will wholeheartedly take a retail order in hopes that you will not pick it up! So as you stated can sell it with the ADM of their choice! Slimy? Yessir! Very. But It seems that you have already figured out your dealer.
I was the same way; I was naive too! This forum explained to me. I took it and went to @Granger Ford . Never ever have I had such an easy purchase. I had all financing and documentation done before I got there. I was at Granger for MAX 15 mins; before driving away with my new Maverick Lariat!

Again Shelby can get you all the numbers before you digitally sign anything. Shelby and Chip were in contact with me all the time.

from MN, I brought a cert check for the truck. DMV registration, sales tax plate fees were all collected in MN. wasn't sure of the exact amount so I added approx $200, overage was returned by "UPS envelope" promptly - later ordered the extended warranty. Transit may have increase, thinkin I paid $30 + $180 If your expecting a cutting edge station, it looks like a boiler room operation :p but operated smoothly. Very good experience for me

It might have been 30.00 for the in transit tag. Again. I have CRS disease.
