GPS ON NAVIGATION SYSTEM STOPPED WORKING

Hi! I am quite new to the club with a 25 Lariat AWD, Hybrid. The letters GPS with a circle and a red slash through it showed up on our NAV screen in the lower right of the screen. It still shows a map which is about 30 miles from our home but our location is lost.
I have rebooted the system twice with no change. My research leads me to think it is an electronic problem and will require a visit to the Dealer.
If there is already a thread on this topic, I apologize. Any advice would be appreciated.

Had the same thing happen in my F-150 with sync 4. Even tried disconnecting the battery for 15 mins to see if it would reset something but didn't help. Took it to the dealer and found the GPS module had crapped out, so was replaced under warranty.

Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone. It's the first fault we have had but our truck is only 10 weeks old and has 1200 miles.

We took it to the dealer for a diagnosis. In 1 1/2 hour, The truck was fixed and ready to go. They said it required a ford reset that was more complete than the ones we had done. The nav works well again but we had to pair our phones again and check through the menus to restore our selections.
Hope your problem is as simple to resolve.

I'm betting they use an assisted-GPS system.

Meaning instead of sitting there for potentially up to 15 min to ONLY read from GPS signal all the data that is required to keep using it - it's going to use what mobile phones have been doing for over 15 years - use the cell carrier provided info, which they base on the cell tower your truck modem is connecting thru. Actually the carrier can send a quick decently accurate fix based on 3 cell towers seeing truck signal, so the truck can get instant accuracy when it may have moved a lot since last usage/fix.

Then quickly send the almanac data regarding what GPS satellites should be listened for in your location, allowing a quicker fix going forward.

So if the carrier network (AT&T) has a gotcha on the truck modem account - no data allowed or a glitch to send back. Ford would have to correct that remotely for the truck account.

Considering the 25MY had some pretty significant issues with it sounded like those accounts and getting the data connectivity for Fordpass to work - doesn't surprise me.

My 2025 Mav Lariat Hybrid AWD has the same problem. Went to dealership and now waiting for a GPS module which is back ordered with no eta. Sad part is it seems to effect some of Ford pass features namely remote lock and start which don't work. Anybody else have this issue

My '25 Lariat has also experienced this issue - FordPass stopped working months ago, and the GPS mostly stopped working a couple of weeks ago. The screen is frozen, but the speed limit display works once in a while. Going into the dealer Monday.

I had the same thing happen this week. GPS stuck on our home address. Is this just a 2025 Lariat issue?

I went to the dealer and they took me in immediately and tried the Ford resets. No luck. So I had to schedule an appt in early December! Snow tire season is upon us! The tech said it may be the module, the connection or the coaxial cable at fault. But he needed more time to diagnose the issue. I’ll let you know what transpires when it’s fixed.

I'm curious why you would use the built in navigation unless it has improved significantly from 23 and 24. Carplay and Android Auto are much better for me.

Happily, my appointment at the dealer resulted in this being fixed. They had to do what they called a "Master Reset" to the infotainment system. That disconnected FordPass from my phone and wiped out any stored data like GPS destinations and radio station presets, but those are easy enough to re-enter. Seems to be working normally now.

Hi, Our 25 Lariat AWD, Hybrid just turned the no GPS again! It happened during the recent Solar Storm but I doubt that is relevant. I will take it in after T-day. It has about 4K miles now.

Just got my Mav back from dealership and they had to replace the Accessory Protocol Interface/Sync module. Mine also had no communication with the Ford app. I could not remotely lock, start or check tire pressure. Basically the app came up but nothing would update, it showed the state of everything when the GPS red circle came up. The lock/unlock feature I use a lot when going out and I leave the keys inside the console. I just ordered the keyless entry pad because of this. Ford has 25% off accessories.
