Got the Lowdown this week. My Maverick is in the DISTANT future.

I feel lower than whale dung, and that's on the bottom of the ocean! I called Ford to see if they may have my VIN number. I was told there was a problem, and I should talk to my dealer. (I thought, OH, DUNG!)

My initial order was for a Cactus XL Hybrid. I had a change of heart and switched to white, and went to an XLT. That was fine as a subsequent call to Ford informed me my color change and added "T" did not affect my order date of 10/13/21. Then it got cold out there, and decided the Lux package was a good plan. BAD DECISION! That changed my ordered date to 12/20/21, which put me in the dung heap. 2023 it is!

I have no animosity toward the dealer, as he warned me adding Lux pack may have an adverse effect on my order.

That's the way the cookies get busted!

Your order date is only 5 days later than me. I fully expect to get mine in 2022, probably late Summerish. But yeah, as a general rule I do a ton of research until I'm convinced what I'm buying is just what I wanted with no temptation to change plans along the way. Cars are the 2nd biggest purchase most people make in their lifetime, and I want to get it right the 1st time with no buyers remorse- even if it means I'm not an early adopter and wait longer to both order and receive.

Changing trim levels was your first mistake regardless of what CS told you. That alone set you back months then factor in the addition of the Lux package and after that is was game over man.

My bad, I know. Someone not long ago mentioned they want the vehicle the way they want it, and are willing to wait. I fully agree with that. (I am too lazy to look up who said that)

Does your problem have anything to do with your new order date (12/20/21) being after the cutoff date for hybrid orders (11/15/21)?

Or is it just that it is so late that you are last in the hybrid line?

Well at least you have a good attitude about it. Koodos. Two thoughts:

1. i will try and maintain respect for you despite changing your color to white

2. I always assumed whales pooped floaties.

The trim should've had more of an effect on the date change than the Lux package. Changing the trim I heard would move the date, but I thought adding any options (Lux package) would not affect it. I ordered a Lariat at the end of October and added the Lux package at the end of December. As far as I know it didn't impact my order date at all. I know I am still screwed because of the additional constraints, but that's a separate issue.

My lariat first edition hybrid package was ordered June 10th 2021, I received order confirmation and now almost a year later I receive an email from Ford stating they haven't forgotten me. Keep the faith!

Ford has actually said that people orders are being held up because of the Lux pack, 360 copilot and one other thing I can't remember so adding anything extra like then will cause it to basically become a 2023 now

Yep, search flat towing and there are a lot of strings about it.

Yeah I wouldn't assume anything is over yet. Production seemed to be trending up. I'm literally one of the last Mav orders taken (Jan 27), fully packaged Lariat eco and I'm still hopeful for an Aug/Sep build. Hoping to get the last '22 off the line.
