Just got this from Ford Authority

https://fordauthority.com/2023/12/evs-and-plug-ins-less-reliable-than-gas-cars-report/

At the same time, CR‘s study indicated that hybrids fared far better than these types of vehicles, and owners actually experienced 26 percent fewer problems than traditional ICE vehicles, but that wasn’t the case with EVs or plug-in hybrids. EVs owned by respondents experienced 79 percent more problems than their ICE counterparts, but the problem was even worse for PHEV owners, who reported having 146 percent more issues. “Automakers have been making hybrids long enough that they’ve gotten really good at it,” CR notes of this interesting phenomenon.

Would be interesting to see the numbers if they removed the Tesla from the results. They make up the bulk of pre-existing EV sales and are notorious for build-quality problems that have nothing to do with them being EVs and more to do with cut corners and even blaming drivers for issues caused by parts they've long known were defective.

The other concern is whether they just tossed the self-reported numbers into the table or performed some good statistical analysis, particularly with EVs being such a small number of the larger vehicle makeup. My industrial experience with Consumer Reports makes me skeptical that they've done it correctly.

Yep. No surprise there.

I'm almost 40 and I doubt I'll even live to see EV's be considered reliable, or practical for the majority for that matter.
