To be clear, the Katzkin upholstery sets are not "seat covers'.

They do not cover over your existing upholstered seats like something you buy from Amazon or Pep Boys. This is OEM quality upholstery that you install in place of your existing fabric or vinyl - the old upholstery comes off.

Yes it is a project you can do yourself but it can be very involved, laborious, and requires a number of special tools and patience. People can really screw stuff up which is why they only really want to sell their product through "authorized installers'.

Sometimes you can find an upholstery shop who will sell their product to you out the door which is what I have done in the past. Still, after having done this a few times, it's worth paying for installation. It really is. If something isn't right you can bitch about it and get it corrected if a shop does it. If you do it yourself and it isn't perfect, you have only your own regret or continued work to do.
Just watched a clip on YouTube, it shows how katzkin "replace" the seat cover, it looks awesome.....

I had looked at another web site that sold Katzkin for around $1k for DIY install. I'll look for the URL. Katzkin has some leather interiors listed on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/s?k=Katzkin.

Another leather interior resource is https://leatherseatskins.com/products/build-your-own-kit/

I like this set from https://realtruck.com/p/ruff-tuff-carbon-fiber-seat-covers/v/ford/maverick/2022/

Should be super durable and very nice looking. The total for the Maverick XL is $752.50
Nice....let me check it tonight

Hey look. I spent 3K on a seat cover for my 21K truck. Seems like a good deal.
This is exactly how I feel. Yes, it's got cloth seats. Yes, leather would be nicer. But the whole point of buying this truck was because it was an reasonably priced alternative to a ten year old used truck.

Add $3K on and it's not so much of one.

I'll deal with the cloth seats.

This isn’t comparable to Katzkin. These are neoprene, Katzkiin is full leather including the door panels and center console. To be honest, $2K for full leather installed isn’t too shabby. I’d get heating and cooling if it’s an option.
Wasn’t comparing to Katzkin. Simply following up on chucky1010’s post about seat covers from Costco which you can get directly from dealer. Katzkin are basically like factory seats when they are installed. Very nice and first quality.

I've swapped out upholstery on my old 13' 150 before(xlt cloth to platty black leather)
It fucking sucks to do. Like not hard, just annoying and painful. I bought the full set of a wrecked one for 550. And if the power worked It would have been a straight seat swap. Unfortunately the fronts didn't work so swapping out the upholstery happened. My hands were cut the hell up afterwards and I had to buy a set of hog rings and the tool. In the end it was worth it and every vehicle I have from now on will be leather(or vinyl). Hence forth why I didn't think twice of going with a lariat.

Imagine working on a seat assembly line pulling, stretching, tucking all day long! No thanks! One of the worst jobs in automotive assembly.
