FYI, I went to the dealer for my oil change today and they noted that the front axels were leaking and replaced them. I have searched the message boards and have seen that the front axel thing is more than just a freak occurrence. Just wanted to let you all know and if you are still under warranty, please have them check it out. I have a 22 Lariat AWD with around 17K road miles, no off road and no crazy bad roads in my area. I really did not notice any performance or other issues but the dealer asked if I noticed any vibration on acceleration and I did not. Nice to know that the dealer actually checks these things (even though they should). My oil change turned into two recall reprogrammings and a front axel replacement -- all thankfully just for the cost of an oil change.

I wonder if the cv axles are different on the EB AWB than the hybrids. Seems like a lot of post from the hybrid guys were saying the axles were out of stock on backorder????
I've got like 20K on my EB AWD with not a single issue or recall except for the blinker fix. So far cv axles look like new

Curious about the axel change procedure. Did you have to make an appointment and go back? How long did it take? Did Ford provide you a loaner?

They had to keep it an extra 1/2 day (for the parts to arrive). I took it in around 9 AM the day prior for the oil change and got it back around 12 pm the following day. I didn't ask for a loaner vehicle b/c I had a ride and the dealer is only a few miles away and they said when they notified me about the axel issue that the vehicle would be ready the next day.

Axles are different , because of different outputs from different transmissions . But I believe all of them are getting cheap, stiff plastic type boots ,instead of good long flexible rubber boots!
they saved a dollar and it’s costing hundreds per vehicle.

16K on my XL Hybrid and not a single issue either, except for a few fn dash rattles & the SW updates. The CV boots are dry as a bone.

You have a damn good dealership! I applaude them looking out for you!
