No more or less so than the decals or center caps. What matters is it means something to me and my grandfathers would think it's cool.
You are right 👍🏼.. it's light hearted ribbing... 😁.

The center caps remind me of the "locking hubs" on early "mechanical" 4x4s..

Yep. Ford carried that design from '7(7? Iirc) to last brick body f series in '97. Rwd would have 4 caps with these medallions. 4x4 had 2 caps with medallions in the back and the fronts were open caps to access the locking hubs.

But yeah. These medallions are from the the '92 F150 XL with RWD with a straight six my buddy drove forever. First truck I ever really worked on. Repairs weren't always by the book but it was always a lot of fun.

Interesting. Was the 351M/400M generation still using the faux mag truck caps?
I Remember seeing the caps, but don't remember the exact motors the trucks had in them..
My vehicle at the time (1978-1986) was a RWD Ford F-100...

Huh. I always thought the medallion caps started in that generation. The more you know.

Still waiting on a few parts to dry but here's a preview of what I've been working on. Hopefully the others will be done by tomorrow morning.

Took a bit longer to get spray paint looking...ok...than I thought it would but they're done.

Not an update but something I forgot about. With the truck being a unitized design it seemed like stabilizing whatever is in the bed at any given time is a good idea. That said the Maxzina molle panels are fantastic. I love that I seem to have any tie down point I could possibly need. Also opted to buy the bed cubbies off ebay (definitely cheaper than upgrading to the XLT to get them) to keep entirely more tie downs than I could ever possibly need (not shown are the "free gift" harbor freight ratchet straps to go with the harbor freight bungee cords).

I used to have a ‘77 F-250. Manual hubs, 351ci 4speed, miss that truck, I’m old. Special ordered it in ‘76. Still, love my 24 XLT eco FX4 Mav tho.

Some of you may have noticed in previous pics I had cut out the top grill to get ram air access to the inlets on the core support. After debating on whether to do aftermarket mesh or alter stock I ultimately decided to glue the stock back in order to keep the theme of the Cobra being a sleeper. It's not perfect at the moment but I'm hoping filler and paint will make it look pretty good from about 20 feet away.

Been a while since my last update so...

Vented my fender badges with the help of a dremel and gutter mesh.

Also finally bit the bullet and added a cvf intercooler. Not a perfect job but doesn't look bad from a few feet away. May stencil "COBRA" onto the intercooler like the '03-'04 svt mustangs later to tie into the theme.

Not pictured is the turbosmart BPV I got used for next to nothing. Hard to get a good picture after it's installed.
