You are rightNo more or less so than the decals or center caps. What matters is it means something to me and my grandfathers would think it's cool.

The center caps remind me of the "locking hubs" on early "mechanical" 4x4s..No more or less so than the decals or center caps. What matters is it means something to me and my grandfathers would think it's cool.
Yep. Ford carried that design from '7(7? Iirc) to last brick body f series in '97. Rwd would have 4 caps with these medallions. 4x4 had 2 caps with medallions in the back and the fronts were open caps to access the locking hubs. The center caps remind me of the "locking hubs" on early "mechanical" 4x4s..

Yes, correction, 1980's..But yeah. These medallions are from the the '92 F150 XL with RWD with a straight six my buddy drove forever. First truck I ever really worked on. Repairs weren't always by the book but it was always a lot of fun.
Interesting. Was the 351M/400M generation still using the faux mag truck caps?Yes, correction, 1980's..

I Remember seeing the caps, but don't remember the exact motors the trucks had in them..Interesting. Was the 351M/400M generation still using the faux mag truck caps?

My vehicle at the time (1978-1986) was a RWD Ford F-100...

I used to have a ‘77 F-250. Manual hubs, 351ci 4speed, miss that truck, I’m old. Special ordered it in ‘76. Still, love my 24 XLT eco FX4 Mav tho.Yep. Ford carried that design from '7(7?
