Four Essential Additions to 2025 Maverick

Before picking up our 2025 Maverick Lariat in May I started looking at this forum and decided there were at least three items that would make the truck interior more convenient. I also knew I wanted a bed liner to protect the sprayed in liner. Maybe sounds redundant but I would rather replace a liner than live with a scarred up bed. The four items are a Center Console Tray, Door Handle Storage Boxes, Trash Can Drink Holder and of course a Truck Bed Mat Liner. I have been very pleased with all of these items purchased on Amazon. Please let me know if I'm missing any other must have items.

I'd actually say only the Bed Mat Liner would be an essential on your list, and only after a prerequisite essential bed cover was installed on the bed.

Essential for me is the tailgate strut, ceramic film tinted windows, new tires, etc.

The first things I installed yesterday on my new maverick (my third one so far) was the tailgate strut and the bed mat. Even though my maverick already has a spray in bed liner it is much too slippery to drive around with toolboxes in the bed. The more rubbery mat does a much better job keeping things in place. The tailgate strut is very nice when I've got full hands and don't want the gate to slam.

I tried two "off brand" struts from Amazon but this time I got the Orion Motor Tech one and it's significantly better than the other ones. The kit has nicer hardware, the correct tools for install and also it drops at nearly the perfect speed. The $1-2 cheaper models both were too slow on the drop but I just lived with it since it was better than slamming.

Next on my install list is the Rok Block tailgate gap cover, which is basically a wide piece of rubber with 3M tape to keep junk from falling between the bed and tailgate. It's really nice when hauling mulch or gravel to not have it fall between and into the small holes on the tailgate.

Next on my install list is the Rok Block tailgate gap cover.

My Rok Block has now been in place for 2 years and has held up well.

My initial concern was whether the adhesive holding it on can handle temperature extremes, but it's been great through two WI winters so far. More info on it in my build thread here. Worth every penny, IMO.

Yes, the tailgate strut is something I appreciate every time I open the gate.

Installation of the tailgate assist requires removal of the factory tie-down bracket on the driver's side of the gate which interferes with the strut. But it's a shame to lose a tie-down point. I made a replacement tie-down for mine.

Works well and clears the new strut and no issues with the cable. Enjoyed making it enough that I keep making more. I have a thread here in the For Sale forum if anyone would like one. Don't lose a tie-down point!

In My case it was two essential items Husky Floor Liners and Bed Mat from Tractor Supply.

Second the Bedrug, it's awesome. I just got the floor one, not the floor+walls rug, and it's plenty.

Ditto the tailgate strut. I'd skip the door handle inserts-- I bought them only to discover how often I annoyingly popped them out made me toss them. You do want the silicone door cubby inserts, however-- they keep the doors clean and scratch-free.

I'd say the most important accessories for me were getting the front wrapped in PPF and a bug deflector-- anything to keep rocks and debris from marring the truck. Plus Tuxmats.
