Found item following windshield install

I had my windshield replaced today and found this item in the drivers side floorboard. It has a gray, double-sided tape on the back, flat side. Would this be part of the windshield install or has something fell out from under my dash or seat?

I think that's one of the guide pins for installing the windshield. Helps ensure the windshield is in the correct location while the adhesive sets. I could be wrong though, not a windshield replacement expert.

That might be the pin that is the cause of so many rattles.

OR3X is correct.
It is one of the alignment pins that is glued to the windshields top corners. It probably disconnected from your old one when they removed it.

Coincidentally, this is also one of the parts that owners complain makes an annoying noise when driving, as it probably taps against something. When Safelight installed my new windshield, I had them cut the long points off with a pair of side cutters before installing the windshield.

Fear not. You don’t need that part even if it popped off of the new windshield.

That was easy enough! Thanks to all of you for your quick responses. I assumed it was windshield related, but wanted to have the experts lay eyes on it first before I tossed it.
