Upfront I want to say sorry if this request is not appropriate for MTC forums. I have a new set of 235/65r17s coming for my 2025 XL Hybrid AWD 4K. These are obviously different than my stock 225/65r17s. I was hoping there might be someone in the NOCO area that might have a Forscan set up that I could get their help with by updating my truck's BCM. If someone has the expertise and tech to help I would really appreciate it.

Will probably be looking for someone to do the same for me in Central Mass when I put on my different sized snow tires, if the dealer can't/won't adjust it for me. The snow tires are off enough that miles to empty is way off.. IE. under 25 miles to empty and the gas gauge is still showing a quarter or more of fuel. With my non-snow's it would be showing almost no gas on the gauge ata 25 miles to empty. When I bought the snow's, dealer said difference would only be about 1/4 mph at 65. Finding it is off around 2 at 70 and 3 at 75.

According to the math moving from P225 to P235s, the difference at 75 MPH would be an actual of 76.3 MPH.

It would not effectively result in a full 2MPH over until a 115 MPH speed (old P225 tires) with an actual 117 MPH with new P235 tires.

Showing 60 MPH on the speedometer with new P235 would actually only be 61.05 MPH.
Maybe not worth the FORSCAN effort to change.

Interesting so the .6" difference is only about a 1/2 mph at 30. My concern is what this does to mpg calculations and the computer. For instance the BCM knows that 225/65 are 2207ish mm circumference, while putting the 235 moves that to 2232mm so about an inch more per revolution. How does that impact the various calculations data points and calculations throughout the system? I see that it is minimal amount, but wouldn't there be a cumulative effect at some point (actual odometer mileage etc.).

If you sold the vehicle showing 100,000 miles, it would really have 101,752 miles.

Yes, I can understand the need to have precise MPG readings, instead of always being off by 1.75%

Short term I can live with the difference, just like things exact. Guess I'm a little retentive that way

Anyway, time to read through the guides on what to get and go it alone. 😨

Anyone know if dealer would do this, since replacements tires are an available size option for the model? Guessing probably not, but maybe some one has gone that route.

One of the local shops recommended a guy in NoCo that can reprogram the tire size. He works mobile so can come to where the truck is to do the update. He quoted $259 to do the work, more than an OBD II reader but cheaper than a laptop.
