The dealership was/is one of those scammy ones, but at the time it didn't matter because it was "employee pricing" so the same everywhere. They did try to con me out of $500 for "window etching" that they didn't do, but got refunded for that when I confronted them. I expect zero help from the dealer.

It's a small amount, but something is better than nothing. I could use the points to get an overpriced part or something at Ford, but thinking about that, I'd rather not have to deal with a dealership for anything if possible. Which also negates the idea of getting a keypad installed with the points if I was able to recover them.

You can always buy off the Ford accesories website. They even list the price in points to avoid having to do a bunch of math.

The keypads are now customer installed since they are wireless and just stick on the door. My dealer told me they just throw them in the glovebox and the customer can install them wherever they want to on the truck.

I'm saving my points to help pay for a set of 300T bronze wheels.

keypads for MY year are required to be programmed at a disservice center for whatever exorbitant fee they desire for the 10 minute service (after you leave them your vehicle for days/weeks).
I tried when I first got my pickup, but the disservice center failed to have the correct part even after I made an appointment weeks ahead of time. I won't try again.

I'm glad they returned to a system where the owner can program and install themselves, like my old Transit(not connect).

Regardless, I have no interest in BUYING points rather than spending that money on aftermarket parts/pieces I can install myself, or a reliable independent shop. I had forgotten all about them existing until I got the notice that my 1560 points awarded for buying a new pickup were about to expire. I WOULD use them to buy some gew-gaw at the parts department that I could just walk out with and not have to endure an all day wait, or leaving my vehicle for days/weeks until they get around to it. Even if I got the whole 30-40,000 points, I dunno what that would get me at a dealership, maybe a single rubber floormat or something.

Then you can put it wherever you want it.

sounds about right. I guess the FordPass points are kind of like casino rewards; they try to get gullibles to buy s*it to get more points. I bought a new set of weathertech mats on FB marketplace for $50.

tell that to my local dealers! It's about a $250 fee on top of the keypad. Unless they are a "participating dealer" for some deal, like the one I went to 50 miles away that ordered the wrong keypad after I made an appointment, and made me sit there all day before they told me.

That's a score! From Ford they were about $190. I used $155 (31,000) points + almost $40 cash.

If you bought new, you should have gotten way more points than that.

I got 42,000 points November 2022, and got a few nice items!
