For some reason, my scheduled remote start failed this morning, on a 2025 XLT less than 2 weeks old.
It doesn’t appear to be a battery issue, I can start it with the fob and I don’t see anything in the app about it being in Battery Saver Mode.
None of the FordPass app features seem to be working, unlock/lock/start and viewing the location all just silently fail. (The location is showing a cached location from 24hrs ago)

Anyone else having issues? Is their API down perhaps?

My app randomly doesn't work. They key fob will start it but the app won't. Never found a reason, but then it really didn't look.

no problems for me today. since it depends on cellular service, maybe the cell service in your area is having issues?

I had that issue for several weeks in a row. It would work fine then randomly lose connection to Ford servers. Reported to Ford, who advised the issue would "self resolve". Highly unlikely. Turns out a SW update appeared on March 30th which claims to "...deploy a recovery mechanism to address intermittent connectivity loss...." Well it failed to connect the next day, and I swear the MPG has dropped about 8% since the SW change. TCU-25.2.7.5

I've had the maverick for a couple of weeks now and each time I go into fordpass things look ok, but I am wondering on how connectivity is done, is it really cellular or communication via satelite? From a deployment point of view it would seem a management nightmare for Ford to co-ordinate with Cell phone providers in every area, but it's easy with satelite since all vehicles would be coded the same way.

It’s definitely based on 5G cellular

I assume AT&T has roaming agreements with carriers in most countries; they definitely have roaming in Canada.

I asked AI, and you're right.

FordPass uses a cellular connection, not satellite. The cellular network used is typically AT&T.

Not in my case, in canada we don't have AT&T. The more I think about this, i'm leaning towards satelite because cell coverage is not everywhere, but satelite is.
(1) I've driven through Canada often for work and AT&T has coverage there...they run on Bell Canada towers...not the entire country's covered but definitely in the metropolitan areas. I have an international plan which covers the N. America continent.

(2) Satellite cell minutes are CRAZY expensive and requires a specialized phone. I drove the Dalton Hwy to and from Deadhorse AK solo, and had a satellite phone in case of emergency ONLY. I never needed it but it was good to know it was at hand.
