I never said anything about plugging in a third-party device altering the computer systems' behavior.
If you're not intending to plug in a 3rd-party device to defeat the auto stop-start, then why do you need access to the connector?

I was on intending on plugging in the third party connector. I was in the process of installing it. I was just stating that Ford changed access to the connector, wanting to prevent any one from bypassing the start stop function; making it difficult to access the connector. In order to access it you’ll have to bend the bracket cover out of the way. Being a new truck I didn’t like the idea of doing that: I can do it , I’m just not happy about it.

If you have an oscillating tool, what about cutting the threaded nub (and screw) off, and either getting a new bracket/cover and screw, or simply using a new screw & nut?
