Ford Maverick XL WRONG COLOR

After waiting since the very first day you could Reserve a Maverick last year I ordered a cactus gray XL. It finally showed up this week and it’s black. They don’t have any trucks coming to sell as a dealer (only custom orders) and they can’t put anymore orders in until the 2023 orders open. I have a black f150 and was looking forward to the lighter color for a work truck and being in San Diego. Anyone dealt with this problems before? Or also is anyone interested in a black hybrid XL Maverick in San Diego. Will save some money instead of $5-$10k markups

This is simply a guess, but I wonder if the black XL was ordered by someone else who decided not to take it and your dealer scrolled through the outstanding orders and offered it to you. The only way to know is if you have confirmations from Ford with a VIN etc. [I am also in the San Diego CA area and I went for white for all the reasons you want a light color]

It's a 15month old thread. Being he is not participating on these forums, I imagine he rejected it like his first order. So, a guy who ordered two mavericks and in the end didn't take either one.
