I bought a 2024 XL Hybrid on Sept 20, this year. at closing, the dealer of course wanted to sell me an extended warranty. Because I had come in from out of state to buy the Maverick (and see my sister) he had offered me $3200πŸ‘Ž trade on a car 2 days later sold for $8KπŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ to my nephew (another sister's kid) and CARMAX had the same car for $12K.. When the dealer offered me $3200, I told him that was a pawn shop offer and an insult:curse:. So he didn't much push an extended warranty. I never found out if the extended warranty was "real" FORD or some " fly by night" (CAR SHIELD like) out of Florida that disappears years later when you need it.

#1. I know Granger publishes the Ford Extended Warranty purchase information upfront on their website.
#2. The Granger extended Warrant IS from FORD..
#3. They offer various years, deductibles, and payment plans.

Now the reason for this posting.. Please educate me..

As a Car buff (born and raised in Detroit) the internet is full of stories- my cousins friend on his bowling team had a XXX and the Prius battery went bad at 68,000 miles and they wanted about 6.28 billion pennies for a refurbished replacement. So he let the bank repo it. So the 2nd hand story goes.

#1. Does the "real" FORD extended warranty cover the hybrid battery? Any documentation to prove that? Not listed as coverage at the Ford Web site.
#2. Has anyone reported a Maverick hybrid battery failure and at what mileage?
#3. What is the cost of the Maverick hybrid battery? is it part of the "8YR / 100,000 HYBRiD UNIQUE COMPONENTS IF EQUIPPED" from window sticker.
#4. Any technical URL's regarding Maverick hybrid batteries. Cause maybe it 5-7 years I'd rebuild them as a side hustle.

In conclusion, I have bought new and used rechargeable batteries from https://batteryhookup.com/πŸ‘πŸ‘, for my solar panels and my Ham Radio Setup. I also reference the best information on batteries -website - https://www.batteryuniversity. com.🀞🀞

If you really want to dig into my past, and interested in testing rechargeable batteries up to 15 volts and 100amp/hours.. You can build my battery tester. That was published in April edition 2023 of QST magazine.. a Ham Radio publication. Ham radio operators use rechargeable batteries all the time especially in Hand Held walkie talkies and want to maximize life or test them to see if they are still viable or if used meet specs.

Happy New Year...

CarShield is a legitimate vehicle extended warranty company. Actually one of the highest rated. Why are disparaging it and calling it fly-by-night? And why the hit on Florida? A lot of good things come from Florida.

Hybrid battery costs around $2600, though not sure on labor.
https://ford.oempartsonline.com/oem-parts/ford-battery-nz6z10b690a

To get more than the 8yr/100,000 warranty you pay $2300-$4700 to get an 8-10yr with over 125,000-175,000 coverage.

That said, it looks like the Ford Protect ESP PremiumCare extended warranty doesn't cover the hybrid battery anyway.

1 don't buy extended warranties, mostly because they don't kick in until the standard warranty expires...so for 3 years you've paid up front for a warranty that you can't use.
If you take that money and save it in any interest-bearing account, even if it's only 0.1% APR, you'll be able to pay for any repairs needed from your savings after the 3 year/30k mile warranty expires. It only requires discipline to NOT SPEND IT on anything else. Period.

I know folks like the idea of having additional coverage, but before you sink thousands of dollars into an extended warranty, read ALL of the fine print and KNOW what's provided and (more importantly) what's not covered. It's your truck and your money, eh?

Federal law requires 8 yr/100.000 miles, had a lady I worked with go thru the same with Toyota. Told her to go back to dealer and tell them to read their warranty, they replaced the hybrid battery

My dealer in Florida (AutoNation) also tried to sell me the third party AutoNation warranty. I have has them before on other vehicles; the problem is that the dealer has to wait for the repair or replacement to be approved, including often photos of the parts. So your car stays disassembled until approval. My last experience was for 3 days.
I don't know if Ford dealers have the same process (and delay).

Pretty ridiculous and completely false statement. I gave you the benefit of the doubt and entered 1% not .1%
The numbers are below, with inflation you actually lose money.
If you subtract the 3 years factory from the 10 years extended, you're paying about 220/year to cover your car- that's not anywhere near as bad as all the anti-warranty people make it out to be. Bet 1/2 you all spend more than that in coffee a year.

Yes, but he not only has the $51, but he also has the $1700. Funny how these people can sell these and save the buyer so much in repair costs and still not go bankrupt???:cautious:πŸ™„ It is like any insurance policy, good IF you need it. Their fees are based on the anticipated reliabilty and part costs of the vehicle.

LOL, seriously??? They are among the absolute WORST extended warranty companies out there!!!! They have been sued for millions, they are experts at denying claims. Most body shops will not accept Carshield warranties! Read the Google/other reviews!!!

NEVER buy a third party extended warranty for your Maverick. NEVER!!!!!! Go with ONLY the official Ford extended warranty!!!!

And if something happens, he's out a lot more. Everyone has to decide for themselves obviously.
I prefer the $220 a year vs a 4k+ repair.

Why are disparaging it and calling it fly-by-night?
Anything that advertises on UHF channels is automatically suspect, and remains so until clearly proved otherwise. Especially when using celebrity shills.

If you take that money and save it in any interest-bearing account, even if it's only 0.1% APR, you'll be able to pay for any repairs needed from your savings after the 3 year/30k mile warranty expires.
uhh, no.

Even a 10/100 with zero deductible and all of the add-ons tops out at about $3,400 at granger.

that's more than most repairs, but not some of the engine and transmission repairs.
