Ford Emblem on Back Side of Bed

I noticed today that some Mavericks have the embossed Ford logo on the rear of the bed. At first, I thought this might be a production change. After seeing many photos on this site, I determined it was not something that went by year of manufacture or trim level. So out to my truck and plying to my hunch. Turns out the Ford logo is part of the Ford applied spray-on-bedliner. It is some kind of non-magnetic emblem that is attached when applying the bedliner.

It is abs plastic that is glued on and sprayed over for the factory spray on bedliner.

Yes, it only appears when the spray-in bed liner is done as part of a factory order. If you have it done by a third party, the emblem is not there.

I have the drop-in bed liner and it has both "Ford" and "Maverick" embossed on it.
