Ordering a Maverick is not like ordering a pizza, where you will receive your order sometime soon.

Rather, ordering a Maverick is more akin to planting an apple seed, in the hope that an older, wiser you will someday harvest the fruit of the tree that grows from the seed. Or maybe your children or grandchildren will reap the fruit of your action.

They say the best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago. The second best time to plant a tree is right now.

Order your Maverick as soon as you can, and be very patient.
Reminds me of a joke about socialism in the East Block from back when:
Guy orders a cheap car. They schedule in 10 years on March 8th. He asks morning or afternoon. They wonder why he cares. He says the plumber is coming in the afternoon.

I’m hearing people say it can be in my driveway by December or January.

Is that possible?
No way to know but especially hard to guess without knowing what all you are ordering on a Maverick. Even the most stripped down models wouldn't be in your driveway anywhere near DEC or JAN.

Those people are dreaming, they are not going to have all the
chips and other parts that caused the restraints ONE day after they could not build the 22s.

This will vary on your dealer, and your build. If its just eco boost xl or xlt with bare bones I could see that.

If I remember correctly orders in sept but builds don’t start untill nov. Dec/Jan would be possible if Santa was working. Based off what went on with 22 I think anyone would be lucky to see a new 23 order(not 22 forced 23 build) before March

I'm going to be a roll-over and I think there are only 15-16 ahead of me in line so I'm hoping I will have mine by the end of the year or January if I get scheduled the 1st or 2nd week.
From the past years history, I think it will take 4 to 6 weeks after your truck is built. before you get to drive it home. Lots of problems with shipping that Ford has no control of.

Yes, that's what I'm estimating. If I am scheduled early on, say by the end of November, then its possible to have it by the end of December-beginning of January.

My dealer told me that having a very large deposit moves me to the top of the heap. Told me $5000. Have to think about it.
Your dealer wants your large deposit so you don't change your mind, and shop elsewhere. Just give him $500, or less deposit , have him write up a sales agreement signed by both the dealership, and you. There's no way a large deposit will move your order up faster, Ford will build it when they have all the parts. I hate to think what the "HEAP" is made of where your truck will be on top of at that dealership!

I hope Ford resolves their supply chain shortages soon and long before starting 2023 builds. We have been waiting for our 2022 XLT hybrid with Lux, CP360 (confirmed order 6/17/2022) in production since 07/08/2022 with a microchip hold. Ford cannot or will not tell what the microchip is for, when it will be available, when the truck will finish its build, or when it might ship. I wish you better results for your 2023 order, especially if you want Lux and CP360 packages.
CNBC says this morning (9/13) that supply chain issues are starting to be resolved. Hopefully, Ford’s supply chains are improving and part of this good news.

Very unlikely to have it that soon, with the chip shortage it'll probably sit in a lot for months before it can be 100% finished.
