Would you trust this if you filled the back with boxes? Or would you use a cargo net over the boxes to help keep any sliding off the frame of it?

Stacked it to the top many times. If it is going to shift or move just tie it down inside and you'll go.

How functional are the windows? How does it look in the rear view mirror?

Good visibility as long as the rear camper window is clean and not blocked. If you remove your rear headrests that's a good hack πŸ‘ŒπŸ½. That's opens the view up really well.

I've had mine installed for a couple of months now. It's been a rainy spring and I can reliable report it leaks. Water is getting in where the plastic trim around the bed has that seam up toward the cab, both sides. It's a natural channel. I followed the instructions and put a little extra sticky foam in that groove but water is getting in anyway. I think some silicone caulk is the only solution.

Also, on hot days, the adhesive on the Velcro appears to soften - comes right off if you tug the back flap too vigorously.

Softopper has a couple of bugs to work out of this one.

Flated:

Waterproof except for the side that touches the cab glass. To be expexted with a "temporary" topper.
Love it. Zero effect on MPG + or -
