I've recently installed my newly purchased Softopper and have some questions for those of you who have done same:

1) The clear plastic windows in front and back of the topper have a lot of sharp kinks/creases from shipping...naturally, right in the middle of the windows, where they cause distortion when looking back through the rear view. I heated (gently) with a hair dryer and while the kinks softened a bit, they're still pretty noticable. Can I expect these to fall out over time, as the windows stretch and outside temperatures climb? Is this normal for all such plastic windows of this type?

2) The velcro strips provided by Softopper for the top of the tailgate are not adhering to the black plastic top trim on the tailgate, making it impossible to tension/close/secure the rear window of the topper. I've read that the best remedy is an additional 3M automotive trim adhesive tape. Can anyone recommend a specific type of adhesive?

3) Have you noticed a significant drop in MPG since installing your topper? Does rolling up the sides and back make a difference?

I had one on my previous F250 (not on Maverick so far). Window will get straight in summer heat...or even sooner. I didn't notice any significant mileage drop. You will eventually give up on the velcro and shut/tuck the bottom material into (top of) tailgate. Saw this on utube and started doing so. Never really hurt the material and worked pretty well.

I put mine on at the beginning of December, so I haven't had it too long. But I haven't noticed any MPG drop at all.

My truck windows are all VERY darkly tinted, so I don't really notice any issues with the topper windows, and I also added the tinted rear window panel to mine too.

I keep it rolled up "baja/safari style" most of the time if I'm not using it to keep cargo out of the weather. That helps with vibility out the rear while driving. But if it's rolled down, I pretty much just use my side mirrors and don't count on looking out the rear much.

**EDIT**
I forgot, I also read about the issues with the velcro on the plastic trim not working. I'm still waiting to find out what will work best, but I've considered using black screws over the top of the velcro to secure it. Then if I remove the topper later, I would just replace the rear trim piece if necessary.
