I agree. Ford wants to move to a build to order system to cut back on stock in the lots. Great for the company and dealers. The allocation system does not work for that business model.My take would be to Kill the Allocations platform and build vehicles on a as ordered system would hopefully create a more even playing field
I luckily got my XL hybrid after only 7.5 months of waiting. I have only seen 2 other Mav's in Indianapolis. My boss and another coworker are still waiting. Sometimes I feel like Lou Gerhig, the luckiest man in the world....the waiting is the hardest part (Tom Petty) but it is worth it.

I don't think anybody anticipated the demand. My salesman told me they were taken by surprise when the reservations and orders started rolling in.....great market research. DUH "everybody wants a big truck" NO WE DON'T.
Thanks - I did see and test drove one (XLT Eco-boost - Cactus Gray paint) in October at Ray Skillman Ford on the south side and quickly experienced a full court press with sales to purchase but would not pay a 3,000.00+ price
along with several extra dealership ($$) items tacked on.Mine is Cactus Grey. Everyone loves the color. My dealer invited me up to see an ecoboost in November. No pressure to switch and buy. At that point I knew this was the truck for me. I have had it for one month now. 1000 miles and filled up 1 time. Relax. When you get it the wait is worth it. I have driven a stick for so many years. You will feel guilty while driving. The good thing is that you will park and forget to shift the dial. It will automatically go to park. Saved me almost every time. I prefer rollie windows but getting use to electric.
Daily driver is a 27 year old Mazda B2300 (Ford Ranger) with a manual transmission, crank windows and no AC - I will be in heaven when it finally arrives
I have asked and asked that very question! I have yet to receive an answer other than from one MTC member who constantly points out to me (and anyone that reads his post), that WE are not Ford customers, but dealership customers. That the only customer Ford has are the dealerships! So as long as the dealerships are kept happy the rest of us can go pound sand!
