Picked up my Mav on 12-15 with 14 miles. In 500 miles no issues, quick as all get out, 28mpg, one small paint blemish at 3mm (leaving it alone!). Totally happy with the Maverick so far and three people have stopped me to ask questions and look at it!
1. Maverick tailgate letters from Ebay at $35. Super easy to put on and look great.
2. Ford Mav rubber mats out and spray/wipe/rub with Armor All Original Protectant -tops only. Mats are just fine in weight and quality.
3. Scotchgard fabric protector on front and rear carpets - two applications - let dry - then mats back in.
4. Battery terminals sprayed with ClubCar Battery Terminal Protector - waxy and lasts for many years! Other brands work too.
5. ACF-50 anti corrosion spray (used on jets) on some interior engine areas with bare metal and some exterior too. Will also use some Boeshield T-9 - another excellent product.
The corrosion protection is due to living right on the water in Galveston and having plenty of experience with salt air. The same type of corrosion protection should work in many other parts of the country too.
If you've got other helpful tips let us know & Merry Christmas!
