Hey guys, been using low temp/air con this whole summer and today was my first time putting on the heat. What was REALLY weird was the smell.

It smelled like cigarettes & then followed by manure.

Now I know its a new car and things need to get broken in/things need to get burned off but I just wanted to document this in case anyone else has experienced this. The exact situation was me going about 110km/h and then turning the heat up (which also dropped how hard the fan was blowing also).

Just seeing if anyone else experienced this, thank you

My Ranger had the same smell (2019) had it when it had 13 miles on it. I was driving to work the morning after and it snowed and that same horrible smell came out then when leaving work it smelled fine ! I hope this is the same thing where it just needs to be broken in !

That’s gonna be the PTC heater, think electric space heater. They all make that acrid smell when first turned on. It should dissipate before too long and not return on the next drive. It’s a feature used as a supplemental heat source, to help warm the cabin, etc.

Does the EcoBoost have a, PTC heater? That would be pretty cool to have instant heat up here in Wisconsin.
